Call for Chapters: The Role of Financial Inclusion for Reaching Sustainable Development Goals

Introduction
Proponents have developed research on financial inclusion, its determinants, and its implications. Both have published articles related to financial inclusion and financial stability; financial inclusion, financial literacy, and credit risk; financial inclusion and monetary policy; financial inclusion, financial innovation, and economic growth; financial inclusion and financial regulation; innovation, financial inclusion, and corruption; financial inclusion and poverty. Financial inclusion is an extension of financial development and is currently widely used as public policy to support inclusive economic growth and support sustainable development. In this way, understanding the challenges and implications of financial inclusion is crucial for policymakers, financial institutions, researchers, and finance students. The book aims to present the main trends related to research on financial inclusion, the challenges in different countries and economies, and their implications for financial institutions, society, and the economy in general. This book intends to present a compilation of the state of the art and identify the new trends and theoretical and empirical studies on the challenges and impacts of financial inclusion. The book will be organized by chapters from different authors. We hope to answer crucial questions about the different and main determinants of financial inclusion, implications for economic agents, financial institutions, and the economy in general in various contexts. To this end, we intend to collect various contributions in the form of competing and complementary chapters and to ensure a degree of quality that justifies their publication, through the mobilization of researchers worldwide who are researching the areas of interest in the context of financial inclusion. The study on financial inclusion arouses the interest of policymakers, financial institutions, and society in general, and understanding the challenges and implications of financial inclusion is crucial for the prescription of public policies that converge on the well-being of society and sustainable development. Theoretical and empirical studies that promote the understanding of the areas mentioned below and any other area related to the theme, even if not explicitly indicated, will be considered.

Objective

We want the book to be a reference on the economic, social and political challenges in the implementation of financial inclusion programmes, as well as to describe the importance and main advantages in the implementation of financial inclusion programmes for financial institutions, households and the economy in general. It also wants to provide a comparative view of the main challenges to financial inclusion in different financial systems and economies. The different economic contexts and situations such as the recent Covid-19 pandemic and the current crisis caused by the war in Ukraine, which may affect each economy differently or similarly, justify the comparison of the challenges and implications of financial inclusion in an international context. In this way, the book can have an impact on academia, since the theme of financial inclusion is of increasing importance and the book can show the trends of research and identification of future investigations, being aligned with sustainable development goals. We hope to add theoretical and empirical investigations that allow us to sustain public policies to expand financial inclusion.

Target Audience

Financial inclusion is a measure present in several political agendas, due to its ability to contribute to the stability of financial institutions, sustain economic growth, reduce poverty and foster entrepreneurship. Therefore, this book is ideal for policymakers, students and researchers who analyze the issues related to sustainable development through theoretical and empirical studies that relate to financial inclusion. Thus, the book is aimed at policymakers, students, researchers, regulators, bankers, businessmen and the community at large. The book in addition to covering the area of Finance and Economics can cover the areas of social and political sciences.

Submission Procedure

Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit on or before June 14, 2023, a chapter proposal of 1,000 to 2,000 words clearly explaining the mission and concerns of his or her proposed chapter. Authors will be notified by June 28, 2023 about the status of their proposals and sent chapter guidelines.Full chapters are expected to be submitted by August 27, 2023, and all interested authors must consult the guidelines for manuscript submissions at https://www.igi-global.com/publish/contributor-resources/before-you-write/ prior to submission. All submitted chapters will be reviewed on a double-blind review basis. Contributors may also be requested to serve as reviewers for this project.
